The company sponsors the new generation
of ‘Laddroller’ wheelchairs
Kotsovolos, as part of the ‘Technology Without Obstacles’ programme, participated for yet another year as a Premium Sponsor at SingularityUGreeceSummit 2020, the largest congress focused on innovations and exponential technology, which are an opportunity for growth and prosperity, was held online on 23 and 24 November 2020. The company’s starting point was the ‘Better Life Challenge’ innovation competition — the first hackathon in Greece for the development of technologies that will improve the lives of people with disabilities — and it moved forward even more decisively, announcing its sponsorship of the new generation of ‘Laddroller’ wheelchairs through the SingularityU Greece Summit 2020.
With the ‘Technology Without Obstacles’ programme, Kotsovolos hopes to motivate the entire ecosystem, in order to maximise accessibility to technology for people with disabilities, both in the physical and digital worlds. However, that is not enough, because our world consists of diversity and complexity, each of us struggling to be versatile and adaptable. Thus, the company is strengthening accessibility for people with disabilities, by supporting Architect Dimitris Petrotos in developing a new generation of ‘Laddroller’ wheelchairs. The pioneering electric wheelchair provides users with the capability of standing up in a very simple way, and moving, overcoming obstacles, and adapting their height, depending on the circumstances of their daily life. The Greek inventor will have the opportunity to try their wheelchair with people receiving care at ELEPAP. The goal is to contribute to their care, and to further develop and improve the invention in their physiotherapy sessions.
Kotsovolos underlines that everyone is equal when it comes to their needs and equal when it comes to technology, while always focusing on people. The ΄Τechnology without Obstacles΄ initiative by Kotsovolos is tangible empowerment towards.
