In 1993 KOTSOVOLOS was bought out by ‘Fourlis Trade SA’ and started on a new cycle of astounding growth, its network expanding rapidly with 25 new stores throughout Greece. In 1998, KOTSOVOLOS bought out the historic RadioAthinai chain and in 1999 KOTSOVOLOS S.A. was listed on the Athens Stock Exchange.

KOTSOVOLOS rapidly grew within a few years and managed to climb into the top 10 businesses of the sector in the 80s. In 1989 it already had 5 stores: in Athens, Peristeri, Nea Ionia, Mesogeion Avenue, and Kallithea. The emblematic slogan, “everything without money” was one that stood out throughout that period.

The KOTSOVOLOS stores are established among the leading stores in the 60s and 70s, their advantage being variety, quality, excellent service, low prices, and deferred payment. The most dynamic period of growth for the company starts in 1979, when Marinos Paravalos takes over Management of the company.

Panagiotis Kotsovolos’ small store in central Athens, on Aristidou Street, quickly won the esteem and trust of the public. Consumers could use payment plans to purchase products such as radios and stoves, which are considered necessary equipment for every modern household after the gradual electrification of Greece.
